Tonight Genius Golfer and I went to the big regional hospital to visit an old friend how is dealing with cancer. She had surgery last week--a total hysterectomy and a diseased kidney removed. She is healing from that surgery knowing that her kidney that is left needs to get to work, so she can get into the treatment she needs to fight the cancer that metastasized to her lung.
I'm grateful my body is healthy, even if it is too chubby according to the BMI charts at my doctor's office.
A friend from work is dealing with his sister who tried to commit suicide last week. She is now on a ventilator. She has a long recovery ahead of her--physically and mentally and emotionally. She has three children under the age of 12.
I'm grateful to know that my problems are temporary and, like it or not, we can get through them--with faith, with God, with my family.
A patient with one of our hospice companies at work was delivered medical equipment on Saturday and we picked it up today because she passed away on Sunday.
I'm grateful for the loved ones I have had for years and months and weeks, and the associated time I ahve had to tell them how grateful I am to have them in my life.
I got an order at work today for a man born in 1980 who just went on hospice service. His life is nearing its end.
I'm grateful I have much to look forward too, even if it isn't perfect at this point. At least it is something.
Most of life is just one little thing after another. And tonight I'm grateful to recognize that.
