Great! Now THAT'S In My Head

This week I was reading in Genesis as part of the Sunday School curriculum in the Old Testament.  This week's lesson focuses on Noah.  So I was reading the chapters dealing with Noah, his family, and the building of the ark.

Maybe it is a sign that I am not reaching my full spiritual potential, but all the while I was reading, I kept hearing a small but distinct voice in my head.  It wasn't the Holy Ghost speaking to me.  It was Bill Cosby.

Mt. Cosby did a bit in his stand up routine long ago about Noah and the Lord speaking to him about flooding the earth and God's command to build an ark.  Norah's reaction in the comedy classic?  "Riiiight.  Who is this, really?"

Irreverent, perhaps.  But really quite funny too, if you think about it.  The Coz was just keeping Noah real, if you know what I mean.

It's probably a good thing I don't get to go to Sunday School this week--I'm teaching Primary during that hour.  I'd just cause trouble giggling every time thought about it.

It's February....Already!

I hate when I can't remember what day it is.  It is worse yet when the months change and I can't keep up.  Today at work I was so busy I didn't have time to pee.

Last weekend I ran away from home--overnight at least--with some friends.  It just wasn't long enough.  and no one did any chores while I was gone.  So it was like getting away and having twice as much to do when I got back.  I hate when that happens.

I did just send off my passport to renew.  Wouldn't you know it?  I will need a passport on June 13th and mine expires (with no stamps in it, I might add) on May 14th.  Here is the new passport photo:

It is me.   Not much I can do about that.  Oh well.

The Boy had his final swim meet on Saturday.  The Boy was coming off being sick for the week prior to the meet, so his times weren't that great.  It was the Region Finals and was held as this beautiful aquatic facility about an hour away.  This is what it looked like:

Is that just gorgeous, o what?  I so wish our city would see the light and build something as nice.  We'd be the mid-county hub for all things aquatic!  Man, that would be fun.  But I digress....

My other gripe/realization is that my eyes are getting poorer and poorer every week.  I find that they tire easier and I am wearing my reading glasses every day rather than just by Friday, at the end of the work week.  Getting old really stinks.  The eyesight is just one thing that has me bugged about aging.

I'm not sure how that tangent got started, but there you are; a few of the things that I have been doing to keep busy.
