An Annual Event

Today I am scheduled for my annual mammogram.  Yet another joy of womanhood.  At least it will e at the local hospital with the delightful radiology technician who, as she is having your boobies squeezed within an inch if their lives, tell you they "look gorrrrgeous".  She makes you feel like your saggy, baggies are the best thing about you.

After the mammogram experience of two summers ago, I feel a little apprehension about going today, but I know I should.  Just seems like a rotten way to spend some of the final hours of summer.  Not to mention the saggy, baggies compressed to that degree feel even worse.

The Shopping Blur

I missed writing yesterday because the day was packed with Back To School preparations.  Haircuts for all, and the dreaded school clothes shopping.

I say "dreaded" here only because that is how it has been in the past.  This year was actually pretty nice.  The Boy brought his iTouch and was plugged in through much of the trying on segment.  That helped!  The Girl is growing but still petite enough to fit into most everything she saw, making the decisions the only hard part.

The Boy, looked at a lot, but opted to go with Genius Golfer because, and I quote here, "Dad really gets me".  What?!?!  I am chopped liver, I suppose.  Oh well.  I did enough shopping to last a year at least, so I guess his choice is better.

The haircuts--trims, really--were even painless.  If only my wallet could say that for the day's work.

You Call That A Golf Cake?

I saw this recently on Cake Wrecks, a delightfully hilarious blog where people see bad professionally made cake and send in the photos.  The gal who writes it, Jen, is very clever and just twisted enough to make it all sound funny.

Maybe I need to talk to Genius Golfer about why he loves golfing so much?!  And here I though he was hitting the little white dimpled ball with the clubs out in the fresh air.
