I saw this post in Facebook yesterday before the frustrating Congress and Presidential budget compromise was reached at the last minute. Thought you might like to see it too.

How Do You Spell "RELIEF"?
Today I spell "relief" D-O-N-E! As in, my PTA awards luncheon is DONE!!
All in all, it went pretty well. And the best call of the day was the box lunches. We had 120-ish people there to honor about 56 folks from 10 schools.
We were one hour, start to finish. Perfect. Even the clean up went well. Why did I not think of that meal option earlier?!
I'm thrilled to honor those who serve our kids so well at these schools. And, while I generally do not enjoy surprises that I do not have a part in--until the surprise part, it was very sweet to have such a lovely appreciation gift and comments of thanks given to me today. That was very nice.
Now I feel like I need a big long nap. Which I will get right on after I collect The Girl from swim practice tonight, make dinner and get everyone ready for bed. Then, they are on their own, but I will crash!

PTA Whirlwind
What happened to Tuesday?! I never made it back here to post anything yesterday. I am not sure what caused that lapse. I was certainly running yesterday...PTA most of the day. I sure appreciate all the administrators and teachers and volunteers I get to work with each day at my kids' schools. It makes me feel good to see so many like-minded folks working together to make things as good as we can.
Today? Well, it is a recovering, and catch up day. It is also a gearing up day, as I have another big PTA day tomorrow. Tomorrow is our annual Council PTA Awards luncheon. As the council president, it is my project. I am ultimately in charge of feeding 120 people and awarding 50 recognition plaques. I do have some good friends on my board helping out, but I feel overly responsible for the success of the day.
Hopefully, with some of the planning and pre-paid purchases things will come off smoothly and all the staff, teachers, administrators and volunteers we will honor tomorrow will enjoy themselves and recognize that we appreciate their efforts on our schools.
Wish me luck....and watch me for a nap on Friday. Good thing Spring Break is next week. Whew.

Calling All Bedlam-ites!
I guess I'm getting my own "bedlam-ites" together tonight for Family Home Evening. I'd like to say we'll be discussing something inrecedibly deep and profound. Instead, I believe we are trading out our 72 hour kits and checking to see if the emergency clothing still fits. Hey, that was my plan from last week, before conference.
