News Flash!

 A few things to add--hot off the presses:

1) If you are a swimmer's grandma, who happened to print off the entries for the medley relays the night before a meet for your own delight and to keep track of your precious 7 year old, please don't tell me I'm doing my job wrong when my heat sheet (line up sheet) that was printed this morning is more current than yours.  Coaches make all sorts of changes.  If you don't competely undestadn what I do to run this bull pen, please don't change what I have done.  Your screaming in my face when I am coordinating a LOT of kids and trying to get them in the right relays as their coaches changed this morning as fast as I can, really wrankles my hide--and, frankly, makes me want to swear.  So, I took a lap around the pool.  And I really dislike running. 

And 2) The Girl got her AP (Advanced Placement) scores from her Biology and Calculus finals (she took back in May) in the mail today.  She scored 5 (out of a possible 5) on both.  I believer, with her 34 ACT score most recently, that she has a great "pay-for-college" plan....SCHOLARSHIP!!  The Boy will then have the option of our little "send the kids to college fund" to pay for his collegiate plans...good thing (he and) we have a few extra years.

It Is Friday?

With the holiday in the middle of the week, I have been so mess up as to what day it is really.  I thought it was Friday on Tuesday, and now it is Friday, seemingly again.

Is it any wonder I am exhausted?!?

And the kids have a swim meet at home tomorrow...so more work in the bull pen for me.  Here's hoping I get long, accelerated sleep tonight.

Funny, But True

Happy 4th?

I'd love to say this is the relaxing way we will be spending the Fourth, but yesterday a fire only slightly north of the canyon caused two different subdivisions in Alpine to evacuate with others on stand-by...then the Forest Service evacuated the canyon (where we will be for Girls Camp next week) because of this fire.   Genius Golfer took The Boy and I to dinner at our local Costa Vida last night, and this was the sight from there (with my cell phone camera)....we're only a few blocks from our house...but the plume of smoke filled the Midway/Heber Valley over the mountain and when the wind shifted filtered into the Salt Lake valley as well.

So, we may be on weather watch, fire watch and our knees praying for rain today instead.

Before and After

Today was a pretty special day around here.  You see, The Boy got his braces off today.  He has been counting down for at least a month--sine his last appointment when they finally told him that his next appointment was it.

Here is what he looked like going into the appointment:

And here is what about an hour does to this kid:

Very smooth.  Watch out Snack Bar ladies....and anyone else that happens upon him in the next week or two.  That is a priceless smile--well, at least, a very expensive smile.
