Ever have days when you wish you could clone yourself to get everywhere you need to to be? How about just cloning yourself to make an appearance someplace you don't want to be but really should be? Or maybe just cloning yourself to get stuff done while the real you takes a nap or gets to bed early?
I had a day like that yesterday. Only with no cloning. And no nap.
During the day, while the kids were in school, I got quite a bit of my own work around here done. I even got The Girl's Halloween costume cut out and the sewing started. I was doing great. The To-Do list was shrinking. Then, the kids got out of school.
I picked up our carpool kids and discovered I needed to host a brief layover and snack session for a handful of cub scouts who had their regular 'after school/before Cubs' plan rerouted this week before I taxied them to the church for scouts then I came home and collected The Boy, ready for Football practice, and The Girl, ready for her soccer game, and we collected a friend, dropped The Boy to football, ran to soccer warm ups in the neighboring town, where The Girl and her team won a 2-1, very stressful game that cinched them a spot in Saturday's final championship game, then brought The Girl home and right to the church for a YW service project, dropped off the friend and came home to think about dinner for everyone later, when Genius Golfer walked in with The Boy from practice and they were starving right now but The Boy had boy scouts right now so he ate a Costco hot dog, nuked in the microwave, before I ran him back to the church for his scouts and where I ditched our Relief Society Social and met a friend at her place where she (very graciously) waxed my hideously shaggy eyebrows in preparation for Larisa's wedding (and any family photos that might have to be taken) this weekend wherein I returned to collect The Boy and The Girl and brought us all home where they took out the trash and loaded the dishwasher while I made them scrambled eggs for dinner, at 8:30 at night.
I'll pause here to let you catch your breath.
Is it any wonder I fell into bed and couldn't keep my eyes open long enough for the news? I feel that energy hangover this morning. But I will gird my loins, or loin chops as the case may be today, imbibe my favorite beverage and prepare myself to do the same type of things today--only not so much after school.
I have days like that and am not surprised that the whole "Stepford Wives" or Cloning ideas enter into some one's head. Maybe I just need a "Rent-a-Mom" service to do all the crummy stuff while I enjoy the creme of this gig. I guess I have to endure the craziness to find the peace. After all, "opposition in all things" includes family life, right?

I'm sorry NOT...but you made me laugh. I sure do remember those days. It's a good thing that they happen while you're young. Enjoy them, they're over too soon (and then you can sleep).
Oh you forgot to add: painted Micheale's kitchen to your list of crazy-busy day! Thanks so much, looks better than white!
