The 16th
16) Today I am thankful for a car that works when I need it and is as reliable as I could ask. I visited three different chapels yesterday in a three hour time period. I was so glad to have a car that starts when I get in it and runs when I drive it and goes where I need it to go. I saw a nail int eh right front tire this past week and had it pulled out on Friday at the Les Schwab near us. The nail was tiny and went into the treat sideways so it didn't poke through. Another reason to love this car. Yes, the price of filling the tank isn't quite what the little Honda has been for the past year, but this one is paid for and fits all the kids I need to haul around in it. I am grateful fro the mobility to drive and the freedom that give me. Some days, it's nice to know I COULD run away, if I wanted to. I'm thankful for that too.

Back to the MuggleMobile, You Punks
Genius Golfer's baby Camaro is having some minor outpatient "surgery" next week. He actually took the car in Thursday, but they can't get the part until Wednesday, next week, and due to the cramped parking situation at their shop they asked him to bring it back then. In the meantime he doesn't want to drive it. This really isn't a problem, since we have more vehicles than drivers, currently.
So he took the zippy little Civic and I am back to the Mugglemobile. I like my car, don't get me wrong. But I have been driving a gasoline-abstaining vehicle since mid June and the price of filling up that little sipper was CHEAP! Now I am back to reality in my 11-miles-per-gallon beastie as I run around town, PTA-ing, and running errands for the family, and back and forth to the schools. It isn't like I am driving from here to Seattle each week, but I do need to plan my route just as carefully.
This way, I'm reminded I indeed do live in reality and have many more carpool kids to keep track of than I like. This way, I can load and unload all of them in the event of inclement weather. This way, I could drive over the tops of little minicars like some monster truck. This way, I can go back to shopping at our friendly, local Macey's for the 5 cents off gas card they offer. This way, I can drag piles of stuff to football and soccer games that may or may not be used. This is my reality.
But I miss the Civic and I think Reality Bites!
