Bieberlicious

The Boy loves (at least right now) having long hair.  It drives me crazy, but it is only hair, as I keep reminding myself.  And in the bigger scheme of things, it really doesn't matter THAT much.    Am I right?  But I do wonder a little more than last year about his hair issues, since Justin Beiber is the popstar-du-jour.   The Boy's hair is quite like The Beib's.  Sadly.  See?

Here's Justin Bieber...
And here's The Boy....

The Boy seems to like to "flick" his hair too, which is only possible because it is long.  It is pretty amusing to watch him when he doesn't think I am watching.  He is flicking and swinging and swooping that mop all the time.  At least he isn't getting highlights and demanding the high maintenance that the Bieber-boy must.
Seeing that photo, makes me kind of find myself singing in my head:

♫ And I was like baby, baby, baby, oh ♪
♪ Like baby, baby, baby, no ♫
♫ Like baby, baby, baby, oh ♪
♪ I thought you'd always be mine, mine ♫

THE MADNESS MUST STOP!  Though, in all honesty, it is infinitely better than a mullet.

I am thanking my lucky stars for that little gift.    Hang in there, friends.  The weekend is coming.

New Hair for New Grade

Here is The Girl's new hair. Great color and cute cut! Her MiaMaid advisor is in cosmetology school and The Girl got an appointment set up for her to do it. The Girl paid for the color--I paid for the cut. She looks like she had so much more hair now. Let's just cross our fingers that she likes it enough to keep it up and do something cute with it each morning. We'll see how that goes.

Number 401 and The Girl's New Hair

As I pulled up my "new post" option this morning, it said I had 400 posts! Wow! I didn't realize that. Pretty cool.

The big chore on my list today is getting The Girl to a hair appointment. Now, you may say, "So what? She probably needs a haircut after all the swimming." And you'd be right. But she has opted to go see her MiaMaid advisor--who is in hair school--and get a cut and a color.

I'm not sure what she is going to choose, but I am sure it will be fine. It is only hair, after all, and if it makes her want to do her hair--rather than just the standard pulled into a tiny ponytail, then she should do it. She'll still be swimming for the HS this fall, so it may not last long, and it can't possibly be any worse for her hair than all the perms I ever had as a girl. So, we'll see what she ends up with. I'll take the camera, so you'll see too.

After the hair extravaganza, it is my day to spend with Dear Friend Tammy. She is hanging in there and doesn't seem to be close to the end yet. Her voice is getting much weaker and soon, I am afraid, she won't be able to talk anymore. Her oldest daughter is moving to Provo for school in another week, and the younger two sleep most of the day away. Apparently they are very late night girls. Things in that regard haven't changed at all, and it breaks my heart. But I enjoy sitting with Tammy and trying to help her be more comfortable. That is about all I can do for her. I'll keep you posted there too.

Have a great Thursday! School begins in two weeks! Yipppeee!

Super Bowl

Tuesday The Boy's football team got to go to Salt Lake City and play the 6th Grade Super Bowl game! The week before they played the Number 1 Team and beat them 14-6. That gave them the bragging rights of playing for the championship.

Of course, the day of theg ame was cold and windy and by the time they played the actual game it was snowing pretty good too. These guys have been lucky that their season was unseasonalbly warm this year. So the cold, plus the snow, all on "speed turf" they weren't used to added a lot of factors against them.

The team played their hearts out and the defense held the other team three times to avoid the extra point, but the guys lost 24-0. Bummer.

The Boy's medal, he was quick to tell me, was the exact same as the first place team, except the engraved part said "Second Place" instead of first. Overall, he was more concerned about how cold he was than he was about losing a game. Plus, he was delighted that they were having a SuperBowl Party later this week for the team. It is all about the party.

Oh, by the way, The Boy's Helmet Hair went the way of the season yesterday, Gone!

The Boy first thing in the morning...not a happy kid yet.
