There Is Always Room for Fun

The Girl has started her finals week.  Her Chemistry final is today, and apparently she spent 12 hours studying for it on Friday.  Then she plans on studying all day tomorrow fro her Biology final Wednesday.  But just because she is studying, doesn't meant here isn't room for some roommate fun.

Maelyn, Jill R,Katelyn, Aspen, Kate, Brooklyn and The Girl in the Christmas mood.

Plus, a bonus shot of fun from The Girl:

At the movie theaters on Thanksgiving, The Girl and her friend Marina and I went to see Disney's Frozen, and this was too tempting to miss.   thought they did have to wait their turns behind some pretty adorable kids.  You're never to old to play.

Entertainment Extravaganza

The Girl and I spent yesterday afternoon at the Capitol Theatre in Salt Lake watching the Broadway tour company of Wicked. It was a fun show and very clever. We have enjoyed the music for a long time, and The Girl even had learned to play some of the songs on the piano. Genius Golfer got us season tickets last year for our birthdays just so we would be sure to get in for this show! It was fun, and very packed!

I got The Girl home and GG and I headed out to a hot date for our anniversary. We decided on a steakhouse dinner, so we hit Outback--which of course, is nothing like the food in Australia, but delicious nonetheless.

Then to top off the entertainment extravaganza, we checked out a newer megaplex and saw 17 Again. We laughed and giggled at this movie. It was a total brainless flick, and I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

Spring Break is over and everyone goes back on schedule tomorrow. Including walking to school and back...I need to kick start my summertime Pioneer Trek training program.

Surf's Up!

Two weeks ago this is what we were doing. It is a place called FlowRider in the Salomon Center in downtown Ogden. Wild place. My sister and her two boys "gave" this experience to my kids for their Christmas gifts, and on New Year's Eve day we went up with them to play.
The top photo is The Girl on her boogie board. She seemed to like it the least of all the kids, but she did get slammed pretty hard at the top of the wave. She got a nasty scrape on her lower back--we told her to call it a Shark Bite.
The Boy boogie boarded at first then thought he would try the surf board. He did great! At first they let you hold on to a rope--like wake boarding--but even then he usually had a lot of slack in the rope, so he got the balance issues figured out pretty fast. The FlowRider employee that was helping The Boy told us he was a "natural". I think it is all the snowboarding that helped him. Same balance and basic positioning.
I'm sure it was a pricey day of fun, but the kids had a great time and enjoyed being with their cousins. I liked it for the memories of the beach and the sun and the summer, and all that goes with that--while this morning we are at 9 degrees again and snow is still all over the ground. But I digress....
