What different occasions do you celebrate each year?
We celebrate birthdays, Christmas, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Easter, 4th of July and Valentines day. When the kids were little we made a bigger deal out of the lesser holidays--but Genius Golfer and I still exchange little gifts on Valentines Day and our wedding anniversary.

Celebration at Work
Today is the 15th anniversary of the inception of the company I work for--so we celebrated. Big Boss remembered the date sometime last week, and thought that at 15 years we ought to do something to commemorate it.
He is taking all of us (plus a date) tot he local $3 movie to see the new Thor movie. I haven't seen it so I think that sounds fun. Genius Golfer thinks it sounds more fun than going to the Young Men's activity tonight at church.
I hope it will be a good team-building activity. We've had a couple new drivers hired recently as well as an afternoon office girl (whom I have been training for the past week and a half). Sometimes getting to see everyone you work with in a social setting helps build rapport in the workplace.
At least, I hope this will encourage each team member to work fro the next 15 years of success.

Party of a Lifetime
Last weekend, my family got together and invited many old friends to come over and celebrate my parents' 50th Wedding Anniversary. It was a fantastic weekend full of memories, stories, and renewing friendships.
My nephew showed my mom how to scan her photos from her scrapbooks and she had 350+ picture that The Girl helped her get into a slide show fro the party. Each picture, of course, had a story...and my dad did a terrific job narrating the pictures for those of us that weren't there originally. 50 years worth of memories can take some time to get through. Luckily for us most of the memories they have of those 50 years are good ones.
Two of my favorite aunts were there, as well some favorite cousins and friends. I couldn't have enjoyed with without my dear friend, Amy, kindly taking pictures throughout the party. I can't wait to see what she comes up with.
Last Friday night we had a family dinner in Salt Lake City and it was just as full of laughs and memories. We haven't had the oldest nephew with us for any family thing in a L O N G time, so it was such a pleasant surprise to have him there for the dinner.

Repeat in Volleyball
I know my own kids don't play high school volleyball, but it is sure fun to watch. Last Saturday I got to go see the high school girls repeat as state champions in volleyball. It was exciting to see. This doesn't even look the same as the volleyball the young women (attempt to) play at church.
A bit shaky, I know, but the crowd was really into the game--and the VB girls played their hearts out. Once the championship was sealed, the student council (the adviser, at least) lit the G to celebrate! Good things happen in this town. It is fun to be even a little part of that.

Graduation Review
The Girl graduated from High School on Thursday morning. Where did the time go? She was rather low key about the whole thing, but it was an important day...and we were glad to be there with her (except The Boy, but he'll get his day.) Here are some highlights:
Never one to look too serious....
Pretty good family kind of day....
The Besties...ready to change the world!
Plus some other friends....McKay....
But the cousins...ah, the cousins!
LOVE these kids!!!
