Alaska Trip, Part 1

We returned home last night from a week long Alaskan cruise with my parents, Genius golfer, The Sister and BIL.  It was a great week, but about all the "relaxing" I can handle for a while.

I got the photos loaded to the computer last night, so I wanted to get some set to post this week and share some of the adventure.  None of us had been to Alaska before, and we really didn't know what to expect, but it was a beautiful place with incredible wildlife and scenery.

We flew to Anchorage on Friday June 13, 2014 and arrived about 10 PM, but a week from the summer solstice it was a s light as it is here about 6:30 PM.  That was crazy.  I knew that happened, but didn't think about the timing of our trip to see it for ourselves.  We spent the night in the Anchorage Captain Cook hotel and then joined 300 other cruisers on buses to meet out cruise ship.  Our bus driver was from Salt Lake county--South Jordan, I believe, and was a BYU student working there for the summer.  Small world.

We took the train to Whittier where we met the ship.
