She's WHAT?!

How is it possible that The Girl can turn 18 today?  This is crazy.  Especially since I t was about two weeks ago I remember her like this:

But, indeed, she is 18 and legally an adult.  Though, I have one telling story to help convince you this 18 things isn't quite right:

Yesterday she went to an eye appointment, because she needs a new supply of contacts, and her old prescription was expired.  I was a t work, for Genius Golfer went with her just for moral support.  He really didn't have any idea what they needed there.

I got home last night and asked her where she put the new Rx so I could take it to Costco and get it refilled.  She, mid watching one of the Lord of the Rings movies, looked up the stairs at me quizzically and said, "What?!"

I repeated, "You know, the prescription you needed to get for your contacts."

She said she didn't know she needed to get that. I know we had this discussion because I had to explain to her why she couldn't just go to Costco and order more contacts.She needed a new prescription.

ARGH!

So today she gets to go back tot he office and ask for a copy of her new (although, same as the old one) prescription.  Check this off as a life lesson.  I hope.

Sooner enough she is off to bigger and certainly better things.  And I just hope she doesn't get sick in Logan.  I'm not sure she'll think to go the student health center on her own.
