I'm Just the Mom

The Boy recently had his Eagle Board of Review scheduled.  He has a week or so until that occurs.  I ambushed him for a haircut, and will make sure his uniform is pressed, but other than that, I have no control.  I am more than a little nervous for him.  Of course, he seems to be completely oblivious to it.

Why does this happen?  Why do I internalize the things that are happening to members of my family, or close friends and stress over the upcoming event (or whatever else induces such stress) knowing I have NO control?!  I don't get it.

In the email about his board of review, it invites him to bring his parents (who may also bring a camera, for a suitable background will be available).  But we are instructed that as parents we are not admitted in with him as the board does their review.  I hope he will remember all the answers, and will stand up straight and be polite and not mumble and speak clearly, and without all the slang he and his buddies use between themselves.  Seeing as I won't be allowed in to interpret for the other adults, I hope he makes himself sound as bright and qualified a candidate as I know he is.

But, I am his mom, so maybe I am biased.  And more than a little "skeered" for him.

Yes, definitely nerve racking! But so cool he is at that point! You're an awesome mom, Shauna!
