OK, SMUG is the word of the day. I've felt very smug the past 3 or 4 days.
Last week my husband, Genius Golfer, and I bought a Honda Civic GX. That is a Compressed Natural Gas Honda Civic. It gets 25-30 MPG on average and takes no gasoline! The beauty bit here is that where we live, compressed natural gas costs 63 cents for the equivalent of a gallon. For the cost of one gallon of gasoline--which, realistically could get us to the pool and back in the Durango if we coast down Battlecreek Blvd. with a tailwind--I can essentially fill my little Honda. Fill, like, to the rim!
So I drive happy and have an unnatural smugness as I pass the line of cards at the Gas 'n Sip or at the Flying J pit stop. I've got just less than a third of a tank left and miles yet to go on this fill up.
Don't take it personally if you notice the smugness. I'm sure it will wear off eventually. But for now, let me just enjoy it and then I'll pop over to pick you up for a ride!
EDIT: We filled the car with "gas" today and it cost me exactly $2.36. I think I'll just still have the smug look on my face for another week or so.

How much does that "smugness" cost? It's pretty nice.
So the equivilent of a gallon of gas is cheaper than a gallon diet coke refill? It's cheaper to run your car than you!!!:) Like you really drive PAST the gas'n'sip?:) You are looking so cute in your cute, zippy new ride!
